Hot Dog!

A couple of weeks ago I went for a walk on a hot day with my parents and the dog. Here he is, enjoying some shade he found as he bounded ahead of us down the trail.

Storm Damage

A large oak tree that used to stand in the front yard of my apartment was cut down last week. It had sustained some damage in the recent high winds. I counted the rings and found 60 but one of the chocolate syrupers (see below) counted 80. The complex was built in the 1920's. Maybe this was one of the original trees.













On Sunday someone (not me) painted some of the exposed parts with fake blood. They used chocholate syrup mixed with red food coloring. Of the other people I spoke to about it some were entertained and some were annoyed. I was amused.
